Making the National Team in any capacity is a dream many athletes have but few realize. Making an Olympic team or World Championship Team is the culmination of that dream. Over the storied history of Winnipeg Optimist Athletic Club and its predecessor, Assiniboine Optimist Track Club, many athletes have represented Canada in international competition. This page is dedicated to them and is divided into two parts: Group 1 consists of athletes who have competed for Canada in the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, or the PanAm Games, where open athletes compete. Group 2 consists of athletes who have represented Canada at international games where age is taken into consideration, like World Junior Championships, PanAm Juniors, World Youth, NACAC U23 meets, etc.
The athletes will be listed in reverse order from most current to least current. Please enjoy this walk down memory lane! If we have missed anyone please contact Wayne and he will forward me the information and it will be forthwith posted! Thank you!
