Kid Sport – Application for Assistance to Play Sport
Winnipeg Optimist Athletics Club Travel Assistance to National Senior and National Junior Championships.
A pool of $4500.00 has been established to assist Winnipeg Optimist Athletics athletes in travel to National Junior and Senior Championships. It will be divided among athletes competing at the National Senior and Junior Championships Championships in Edmonton, AB. and the National Cobined Event Championships, Ottawa, ON in proportion to their travel expenses. See you personal coach or Wayne McMahon about qualifying for Nationals. The funding was voted by the club executive from various fund raising efforts.
The formula for distribution will be an athlete`s expenses (minus any other sources of funding i.e. Athletics Manitoba) divided by the expenses of all athletes times the available pool of money.

Sport Manitoba Athlete Assistance
Manitoba athletes striving to pursue excellence at the highest level of national and international competition are eligible to receive Athlete Assistance funding.
Grants ranging from $500 to $1,500 are available to individual athletes and teams based on their performance at their sports’ National Championship or their present status as a member of a National Team program.
Please contact the appropriate Provincial Sport Organization for criteria and an application form. You can find your sport listed in the drop down box in the top right corner of our site. Applications must be endorsed and forwarded by the Provincial Sport Organization.
Sport Manitoba Women In Sport Monthly Grants
WOMEN TO WATCH
A major initiative is the Women to Watch Grant Program. Working in partnership with Provincial Sport Organizations and Coaching Manitoba, Sport Manitoba provides a monthly grant of $500 to a female athlete, team, official or volunteer to assist them in enhancing their women in sport career.
A $500 monthly grant is also awarded to a female coach to assist them in further developing the skills necessary to attain a higher level of coaching or increased level of coaching experience
